From Michael Russo of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune:

Before Marian Gaborik returned to Slovakia last weekend, Wild General Manager Doug Risebrough had a conversation with the high-scoring winger in which he informed him that an extension offer would be coming from the Wild later this month.

Gaborik is entering the final year of a three-year, $19 million contract and can become an unrestricted free agent July 1, 2009.

Read more from Russo here.

The Wild understands Gaborik’s importance to the team and this offer should be extremely reasonable. I’d guess the numbers will be something along the lines of 4 year, $29 million.
