BC product Dylan Coghlan is reportedly being dealt by the Hurricanes to the Jets according to Elliotte Friedman. The 6’2 right-shot defenceman is an RFA. Still no word on what Winnipeg is sending back to Carolina.
He played 59 games for the Golden Knights during the 2021-22 season and then spent the last two seasons in the Carolina organization. In 2023-24 he played just one game in the NHL with Carolina and 61 in the AHL with the Springfield Thunderbirds.
As per Tony Androckitis of Inside AHL Hockey he is saying the return is a conditional 7th round pick. Good buy low price paid by the Jets to get a player that they likely think has more to show in the pros.
