Former Winnipeg Jets and Manitoba Moose forward C.J. Suess signs in DEL

Back in the 5th round of the 2014 NHL Draft the Jets selected C.J. Suess who was a Minnesotan playing for the Sioux Falls Stampede of the USHL. He was committed to attend Minnesota State U – Mankato of the NCAA where he’d spend the next four seasons.

He spent the first two seasons of his pro career playing in the AHL with the Moose although he did make his NHL debut in San Jose back in the 2019-20 season. Two seasons later he would play another three NHL games for the Jets.

It must have been memorable playing in San Jose as he signed there as a free agent playing one more NHL game for the Sharks.

He returned to Manitoba on an AHL deal for two seasons getting into another 139 games in antlers which puts him 10th on the All-Time games played list according to play-by-play voice Daniel Fink. During last season he was honoured for playing his 300th game as a Moose and would end his career with 305.

Suess has signed a new contract to play in Germany with Dresden Eislöwen.
