Former Manitoba Moose defenceman Dean Stewart signs in KHL

The pride of Portage la Prairie, Manitoba Dean Stewart is heading overseas after spending the last three seasons in his home province playing for the Moose. The right shot defenceman was drafted by the Coyotes in the 7th round back in 2016.

Folks at Hockey News Hub had this first on Wednesday that he’d be signing in the KHL with Vityaz. The team listed is as a deal for the 2024-25 season.

In total he suited up for the Moose 116 times scoring three goals and adding 29 assists.

Stewart becomes the second player for the Moose this offseason to head overseas after Kristian Reichel signed a three-year deal in the German DEL.
