Former Jets and Moose goalie Chris Driedger signs in KHL with Traktor

It was a short homecoming for goalie Chris Driedger as the Winnipegger who was acquired by the Jets from the Panthers ahead of the trade deadline in a goalie swap for Kappo Kahkonen. He would play five games for the Moose before he was recalled up to the Jets at the end of March to be the third goalie which gave Connor Hellebuyck the option to skip practices down the final stretch.

He did get a chance to dress for a game in Winnipeg when he backed up Eric Comrie on April 13th against the Oilers.

His time in North America has come to an end. It was reported initially back in late May by Hockey Hub News, who covers the KHL, that the Manitoban would be heading to Russia for the 2025-26 season and it was confirmed today by Traktor who indicted on their Instagram page that it is a one-year deal.
