For first time ever Winnipeg will host a game 7 (NHL version) as Blues take game 6 over Jets by final score of 5-2

The attention to detail wasn’t there and as a result which means for the first time ever Winnipeg will host a game 7 (NHL version) as the Blues take game 6 over the Jets by final score of 5-2.

Notable:

The Jets got out to a good start but it was the Blues who struck first on a bit of an unusual goal. There was some thought it was goalie interference but Winnipeg chose to let it stand. Connor Hellebuyck had no chance as Pavel Buchnevich and Dylan Samberg took away his eyes. First goal on first shot.

The penalty calls (against both teams) continue to be Charmin soft.

Speaking of Connor Hellebuyck he made a hell of a save on the penalty kill but so did Neal Pionk.

Despite being down 1-0 to start the 2nd the Jets began the period the right way. Morgan Barron scored a heck of a goal to tie it, his first ever in the playoffs, but Mason Appleton wasn’t paying attention and was offside. Which gave the Blues what they needed to challenge.

But then Cole Perfetti got his first ever playoff goal shortly thereafter to tie the game.

So things were looking up for the visitors right? Maybe for a bit but then the home team scored two goals in under a minute including one Connor Hellebuyck would want back to make it a 3-1 game. And then for good measure they added two more for a total of four goals in 5:23 to blow open the game.

Eric Comrie began the 3rd period for Winnipeg meaning Connor Hellebuyck had been given the hook for the third game in St. Louis.

They’d get one back mid part of the 3rd from Nino Niederreiter but it was way too little way too late.

Multi Point Game:

None.
