Flames prospects looking forward to proving themselves at development camp

They’re the future, right now.

Welcome to the Calgary Flames’ annual professional development camp, which starts this afternoon at the Pengrowth Saddledome.

The National Hockey League club is rustling up 30 of its unfinished gems and whipping them through a week’s worth of on-ice buffing.

The most intriguing prospect on the Flames’ roster is Mikael Backlund. The talented Swede may become the steal of the 2007 Entry Draft.
