Fedor Fedorov might not possess some of his older brother’s Hall of Fame-caliber skills, but he has Sergei’s unmistakable confidence.
Signed as a free agent by the Devils after playing the past two seasons in his native Russia, Fedorov is taking part in this week’s developmental camp for prospects at the Prudential Center.
The catch is, unlike most of the players involved, Fedorov, 27, is extremely confident he’ll earn a spot with the Devils in training camp.
“That’s the only reason I’m here,” Fedorov said Tuesday. “No other reason. There is no (other) point in me being here.”

Fedorov has confidence, arguably too much, but if he can exhibit determination and a willingness to compete that matches his skill level, he’ll be in good shape.
