Our friends at Kenny & Renny (aka Ken Wiebe and Sean Reynolds also know as the post, post-game show after IC) had an end of season show today where they talked to Scott Billeck of the Winnipeg Sun and Jeff Hamilton of the Winnipeg Free Press.
At the conclusion of their show they had hockey insider Elliotte Friedman on to provide his thoughts on the comments of Mark Scheifele, possible candidates for new coach in Winnipeg, the direction of the franchise and more. (starts at 52:04).
One of the most interesting comments from Friedman pertained to goalie Connor Hellebuyck saying the Jets got “good news” in that he is “ok where he is”. He went on to add “I’ve heard as long as the plan is to contend that Hellebuyck is ok”.
Interesting comment but not surprising given that he would want to be in an environment where they can win and as Friedman went on to say it would seem to be a sentiment shared by a few players.
