Dylan Samberg suffered broken foot in Winnipeg Jets loss to the Predators

The Jets lost to the Preds but the bigger news is they lost their 2nd pairing left side defender in Dylan Samberg who blocked a shot on a penalty kill. He would leave the game and the team announced he would not return.

After the game head coach Scott Arniel advised Mike McIntyre and the rest of the media that Samberg had suffered a broken foot blocking the Steven Stamkos shot and that he would return to Winnipeg to get assessed.

As an aside when watching the replay it’s kinda insane that he still tried his best to get up after suffering the broken foot, get into the play and then got in a lane to attempt to block another shot from Stamkos.

Tough news for the Jets who have come to rely in number 54.

Of course Ville Heinola is expected to be recalled and this is what Moose assistant coach Eric Dubois had to say about the Finnish defender’s time with Manitoba after today’s 4-2 win:

We shall see how this all sorts out when the Jets hit the ice on Monday in St. Paul.
