From NHL.com via Japers’ Rink:

Washington forward Donald Brashear has been suspended for six games by the National Hockey League and will miss Tuesday’s Game 7 of the Capitals’ Eastern Conference Quarterfinal round series against the New York Rangers for his action both prior to, and during, Sunday’s Game 6.

Read the story from JP’s site here.

Rightfully so.  The NHL has begun to crackdown heavily on pre-game actions and Brashear was taped doing so.  So, that is no surprise.  As for the hit on Betts, he broke his orbital bone as a result and the hit was plain uncalled for.  This suspension is certainly warranted.
