From the Newark Star-Ledger:

Russian center Fedor Fedorov was signed by the New Jersey Devils on Monday after he spent the last two seasons playing in Europe.

Fedorov, 27, had 12 goals and 14 assists in 49 games last season with Dynamo in Russia. His previous stint in the NHL came during the 2005-06 season when he played three games with the Rangers.

All recent reports had speculated that this deal has been basically done for a while now; so, this signing comes as no surprise. Now that he’s officially signed, I have to say that I’m not really sure what Fedorov can bring to the Devils. He has a high skill level, but his attitude has been a problem in the past. Considering the team is coached by hard-nose Brent Sutter, the Devils must think Fedorov has matured/changed.
