David Gustafsson clear waivers; can be assigned to the Manitoba Moose

When Jets head coach Scott Arniel confirmed on Thursday that Jonathan Toews would be in the lineup for Winnipeg’s season opener, it meant the club needed to make a move to become roster compliant. So, I asked the bench boss what move they’d be making. He confirmed they would be placing David Gustafsson on waivers.

Courtesy of the folks at Puck Pedia we learned that no claims were made on the Swedish centre which means the Jets can send him to their AHL affiliate.

The 2018 2nd rounder of the Jets will provide more AHL depth for a team that already has quite a bit. In addition to his 149 NHL games with Winnipeg he has played 88 games for Manitoba over the years.
