Dates for the Winnipeg Jets 2020-21 season and beyond

With news that the NHL and NHLPA had agreed to terms on Friday, this weekend was expected to be the time they hammered out all the fine details for the 2020-21 season.

The folks at SiriusXM NHL tweeted this out this morning which has subsequently been augmented with dates from the folks at CapFriendly:

Waiver period begins: Dec 28
Training camp begins: Jan 3
Season starts: Jan 13
Trade deadline: April 12
End of reg season: May 8
Playoffs begin: May 11
Last possible day of playoffs: July 9
Expansion draft: July 21
NHL Draft: July 23-24
Free Agent Day: July 28

For the second straight year we will see the league have the Stanley Cup running into the summer as it looks like the NHL will be running about a month behind their normal schedule.
