From Craig Custance of The Sporting News:

SN: What did you think of Ron Wilson getting fired in San Jose?

Roenick: I loved Ron and we remain good buddies. It made it so much fun for me last year. He gave me the respect, communicated with me. Treated me like a 20-year vet. He let me know when I was playing, bad, playing good. I’m not saying everybody should be treated the same or different, the communication and respect is huge for me.

Nothing too outlandish, just a good old chat with the always interesting J.R.
