Today on the Big Show during Day 1 of Jets training camp coach Paul Maurice was asked if the team has “a 2nd line centre” by Jim Toth of TSN 1290 Winnipeg. There were some questions during last season and into the summer of how good a fit veteran Bryan Little was with Patrik Laine and Nikolaj Ehlers. Plenty of folks were penciling in Jack Roslovic into that spot. The Jets bench boss acknowledged that while it is worthwhile to work Roslovic into the centre role this season that it may not be ideal playing three young guns on one line.
“…Bryan Little, who was the number one centre on the team a couple of years ago, is still a pretty good hockey player so I think we will find a place for him too.”
Jim’s question about this began at the 8:06 mark of the interview and runs to 9:49.
