“We’ve talked to Sergei,” McPhee said. “He wants to come here and is
willing to wait until some of the dust settles. We’ll continue to talk to him,
but we’re pretty confident that we’ll get something done here.”

The Capitals liked the way Fedorov fit into their team late last season and would like to bring the former star back for another season. Whether another team gives Fedorov more money than the Caps is another story. I suspect he will return to Washington for the 2008/09 season, but wouldn’t be shocked if he landed elsewhere.
