Brendan Lemieux will have a hearing for his illegal check to the head Monday

The NHL Department of Player Safety announced in a tweet that Brendan Lemieux will have a hearing for an illegal check to the head on Florida’s Vincent Trocheck with the date and time to still be announced. It was seen as the turning point in the game on Friday and his coach was none too pleased following the game.  It will be interesting to see what gets handed down.

Update:  The Department of Player Safety has indicated that Lemieux’s hearing will be tomorrow afternoon.  According to Mike McIntyre of the Winnipeg Free Press it is “Over the phone, not in person”.  Coach Maurice didn’t really have much to add when asked about it today following practice.
