While Jets fans were celebrating the Jets holding a big lead over the LA Kings, Bob McKenzie of TSN announced that the Jets acquired Lee Stempniak from the Rangers.
In 53 games so far this season he has nine goals and nine assists.
Stempniak has worn 22 or 12 throughout his NHL career but with those numbers being worn by Thorburn and Stafford we will likely see the newest Jets player wearing new numbers.
Going back the other way in the deal was Carl Klingberg who has been playing for the St. John’s IceCaps for the most part this season.
