Statement release by the Jets:
The Winnipeg Jets Hockey Club would like to issue the following statement from Jets head physician Dr. Peter MacDonald with regards to defenceman Zach Bogosian who will undergo surgery this upcoming Friday on his right wrist:
“Winnipeg Jets defenseman, Zach Bogosian, has been diagnosed with a chronic ligament tear in his right wrist. During off-season training, Zach experienced discomfort and was limited in his performance. Zach will thus undergo surgery this upcoming Friday performed by Dr. Thomas Graham at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio.”
Dr. Graham has assisted the Jets Medical and Training staff with other players as well as performing surgery on numerous players with the NHL, NBA, and Major League Baseball experience.
Update (3:20 PM): Illegal Curve has learned that Zach Bogosian has a ulnotriquetral ligament tear in his right wrist. The usual timeline for recovery on this type of injury is a minimum of 3 months.
