Late Monday night, mere hours before he was set to reach unrestricted free agency, the Jets announced that they have re-signed RW Chris Thorburn to a 3 year, $3.6 million dollar contract, with a yearly salary cap charge of $1.2 million dollars.

Thorburn, who earned $850,000 last season, had 2 goals, and 9 assists for 11 points in 55 games. He has spent the last 7 years with Winnipeg/Atlanta, and will be 34 years old at the conclusion of the contract.
