From the Globe & Mail:

The Chicago Blackhawks have signed right winger Akim Aliu to a three-year contract, the club announced Monday.

Aliu, 19, was ranked third on the OHL’s London Knights with a career-high 61 points (28 goals, 33 assists) and 133 penalty minutes in 60 games last season.

Aliu has had a controversial junior career but possesses many of the attributes that NHL teams covet.   Considering the fact that he was taken with the 56th pick in the 2007 draft, he could very well turn into one of the steals of that draft.
