Andrew Ladd to have surgery on Friday for his sports hernia injury

Speaking during a conference call about his nomination for the Mark Messier Leadership Award today, the Jets captain told reporters that he would be having the surgery in St. Louis on Friday.  We should have a better idea of his recovery time later this week.

He told media during his end of season interview that he had suffered the injury back in December.

Ladd will be the fourth member of the Jets to have surgery joining Jacob Trouba, Adam Pardy and Tobias Enstrom.
