The 57th National Hockey League All-Star Weekend has come and gone.   

Skills Competition:

1) Bridgestone NHL Fastest Skater: 

Winner: Andrew Cogliano, Runner-up: Jeff Carter.  Video highlights.

2) Scotiabank NHL Fan Fav Breakaway Challenge: 

Winner: Alex Ovechkin (42.8% of the vote), Runner-up:  Alexi Kovalev (19.7% – guess Habs fans thumbs were tired from the All Star Voting).  Video highlights.

3) Upper Deck YoungStars Game:

Rookies 9, Sophmore’s 5, MVP –  Blake Wheeler with 3 goals

4) McDonald’s Accuracy Shooting:

Winner: Evgeni Malkin (3/4), Runner-up: Dany Heatley (2/4).  Video highlights.

5) Cisco Hardest Shot: 

Winner: Zdeno Chara (105.4* MPH) Runner-up: Shea Weber  (103.4). *Eclipsed Al Iafrate’s old mark of 105.2 MPH also set in Montreal back in 1993.  Video highlights.

6) Gatorade NHL Elimination Shoot Out:

Shane Doan outlasted Marc Savard. 

All-Star Game:

Eastern Conference: 12   Western Conference: 11

Game goes to a shootout.  Only Kovalev & Ovechkin managed to score.
