Afternoon Delight: Saskatchewan Roughcoyotes?

  • The Saskatoon Star-Phoenix is reporting that one of the groups bidding on the Coyotes has booked ice in Saskatoon this winter, with the intention of playing up to 5 games in the city. The residents of Saskatchewan would lose their minds. Expect a heavy demand for the tickets, should this come to pass.
  • Puck the Media has news on the airing of Flames, Kings and Capitals games. Nice to see the Kings put all their games in HD.
  • Goon’s World tells us that Chay Genoway has been named the captain of the Fighting Sioux for the 2009-10 season. Excellent choice.
  • Illegal Curve would like to wish TSN a happy 25th birthday. I can’t believe its been 25 years already.
  • Razor and the Dallas Stars blog feel that with the recent internal news at the NHL and NHLPA, something big is on the way.
  • Edmonton’s Sam Gagner scored the winning goal in the Euro Can Cup, a tournament I had no idea about. Sounds like a fun tournament. Interesting to see that Josh Holden is in Europe.
  • Lots of news from the various WHL camps, courtesy of Taking Note. The most interesting is that Kevin Lowe’s son Keegan has apparently caught the eye of his hometown Edmonton Oil Kings. I would imagine he would be a big draw for the junior club.
