Afternoon Delight: My Life is Pretty Plain

  • Tennessee may level the “jock tax” on the Predators and visiting teams. I am no fan of taxes in any form. People always wonder why citizens flee to tax havens such as Florida…
  • The weekly Hot List from THN. Birkholz has very good skills and strength, but there are concerns about how he thinks the game.
  • One Timers and Deflections comments on the Maple Leafs’ attempt to block Balsillie. Protecting one’s territory is just fine, but Southern Ontario has every right to see a winning hockey team! 🙂
  • Dan Bylmsa hearts burritos. Qdoba? Really?
  • This is a couple days old, but Jeff Klein and Stu Hackel have an interesting article up over at the NY Times concerning obstruction calls. I understand why the players like it, but the roll back on the calls presents the dreaded slippery slope. No one wants to go back to the dead puck era. Well, perhaps Jacques Lemaire, but thats about it.
  • Crash the Crease has several off-season previews of the NHL teams up right now. The current installment features Le Sabres.
  • Coming Down the Pipe looks at the St. Louis Blues. The Blues draft very well.
