Afternoon Delight: More Snow on the Way

  • Is the Central Division the best division in hockey? Hard to argue against it.
  • In an effort to give up more even strength goals, the Oilers have recalled Taylor Chorney. If you want proof that the Oilers have flushed the season, this is it. Chorney has more minuses than a Grade 2 math test.
  • Jarko Ruutu and Rick Tocchet are not bffs.
  • Stan Fischler with a little more on what he considers to be ineffective officiating. The Maven makes some good points here.
  • Ryan Kennedy renews the call for more Division I hockey programs. A number of bigger schools, including Nebrask and USC are trying.
  • Sean Avery is opening at bar in Tribeca. 77 Warren St to be exact.
  • A closer look at Bemidji State’s improbable run to the Frozen Four. They are a scrappy and well coached team. Do not count them out.
