Afternoon Delight: Billion Kilo-Watt Dam

  • Black Dog has another fine post covering such topics as The Hip, his boy and a certain UFA defender out of Florida. For my money, one of the best hockey blogs out there. Extremely well written.
  • Tom Gilbert blogs about his summer, which includes a separation from Sam Gagner and Andrew Cogliano. Breakups are always hardest on the kids.
  • The Scarlett Ice blog asks when is a contract not a contract. Good point here. Its one thing to quietly ask to be moved, but when you sign a large contract such as Heatley’s, you had better be prepared to honor it.
  • A neat little blog called Hockey, Football and Stiletto Shoes has a contest going where readers list the reasons why either the Pens or Wings will win the Stanley Cup. Pretty funny stuff.
  • The Boston Blueline blog has a comparison of the Stanley Cup finals and Star Wars. The Red Wings as the Empire? I like it!
  • The Western College Hockey blog profiles draft prospect Jordan Schroeder. Loads of talent, but the word is that he didn’t do well in the interview portion. No word on the swimsuit competition, however.
  • Hockey Dirt comments on the Heatley situation. It will be a messy summer in Ottawa.
