• The Thrashers have acquired Mathieu Schneider in exchange for Ken Klee, Brad Larsen and Chad Painchaud.  The Thrashers didn’t give up much and really boost their defense.  Schneider is still an effective point-producing defenseman and I’d bet my money on ATL trading him prior to the deadline when there isn’t much salary left on his contract. As for the Ducks, they get a grinder in Larsen and another defenseman (which they now need) in Ken Klee.
  • The Oshawa Generals have announced they will retire Bobby Orr’s number 2. Took ’em long enough!
  • Paul Maurice is out of a coaching job and back in the classroom. Maurice is an interesting guy.
  • Petr Nedved’s comeback attempt with the Rangers has endedNedved was attempting a comeback?
  • Battle of California is wondering what Patrick O’Sullivan is doingGood points.
  • No hard feelings between Gretzky and Tocchet.  Didn’t think there was but good to get clarification regardless.
