Afternoon Delight:

  • Elliotte Friedman proposes changing the names of the NHL Trophies. I don’t think there is any reason to change the names. You lose some of the history and prestige and it becomes a never ending cycle of change.
  • Power rankings from Yahoo Hockey, along with a look at potential Hall of Famers on each roster.
  • The Hot List features a Pat and a couple USHL’ers. This is always a very good list if you are interested in prospects.
  • Former Weyburn Red Wing Mark Hartigan updates us on his time in the KHL. Interesting to read about an insider’s view of the league at the on ice level.
  • The Slapshot blog offers links to various blogs from the Pacific Division. Good round up of blogs here. I have always enjoyed the stuff Kings fans put out.
  • Two Stanley Cup rings were stolen in a recent Toronto area heist.
  • Boston University, known for its Terriers and producing Amanda Silverman, have secured top spot in the USCHO online poll. Nice to see the program bounce back and become a force.
  • Do the Islanders suffer from lack of identity? For now, I think its fair to say that its true.
