Kyle Bukauskas and Elliotte Friedman chatting about Toews on today’s podcast starting at the 34:24 mark. The conversation begins about the Jets signing of Jonathan Toews and the contract structure. Friedman does drop this line as it pertains to UFA Nikolaj Ehlers:
“I believe part of their pitch to Ehlers was ‘Hey Toews is here and he can play with you’. I don’t know if that’s going to work”.
He then went on to say he believes in Toews coming back after seeing what Gabriel Landeskog did with the Avs while also acknowledging that it’s a different situation.
Additional thought:
Guess we’ll know in the next eight days if that had any impact on Ehlers.
