The fans in Winnipeg were ready for the return of playoff hockey with themselves in the building for the first time since 2019. It was loud which continued into the anthems for the True North.
While the crowd had a good start the Jets did not giving up two goals on the first two shots against to start the game down 2-0.
This was cut in half by a nifty Kyle Connor goal, his second of the playoffs. Crowd was into it.
The Jets had an absolutely terrible middle frame being heavily outshot and more importantly being outscored 2-0 to give the Golden Knights a 4-1 lead after 40 minutes.
An early 3rd period goal by Nino Niedderiter gave Winnipeg some life and then Jets superfan and former IC intern Jesse Pollock pumped up the crowd declaring the two goal lead the worst lead in hockey.
Mark Scheifele breathed some life into the crowd with his first of the playoffs on the power play to cut the deficit to one for Winnipeg. The crowd was amped up.
And then Adam Lowry played hero to the 1000s of Jets fans watching as he scored his fourth goal of the playoffs to tie the game with 21.6 seconds left. Place went nuts.
