World Championship: Pavelec player of game and tournament for Czech

He wasn’t the starter for the home squad when the tournament kicked off but took over for Alexander Salak in game 2. Today he made 39 saves in a 2-0 loss to a powerhouse Team Canada.

Following the game he was named “Best Player of Team Czech Republic” and he (along with Jagr and Voracek) were named “Three Best Player of Tournament” for the Czech Republic.

SVS: 163
SOG: 177
SV%: 92.09
GAA: 1.83

The Czech Republic and Ondrej Pavelec will play the loser of the US/Russia in the bronze-medal game tomorrow afternoon.
