When: Sunday, September 11th to Friday, September 15th
Where: Penticton, British Columbia at the South Okanagan Events Centre
What: A pre-season round-robin tournament featuring prospects from five NHL Teams; Vancouver Canucks, Edmonton Oilers, Calgary Flames, San Jose Sharks and Winnipeg Jets.
Who: Each team’s roster consists of 22 future stars.

Preview: The Winnipeg Jets open the 2011 Young Stars Tournament tonight against the San Jose Sharks, last year’s Western Conference Finalists (9:30 p.m. CST, Listen to the game live on Sports Radio 1290) The Jets will also play Edmonton Tuesday night (9:30 p.m. CST) and Vancouver Friday morning (1:30 p.m. CST)
The Jets had two practices at the MTS Iceplex on the weekend before they departed for Penticton. For the Jets, the tournament will end two days before the start of main training camp.
The Young Stars Tournament will be a good opportunity for Jets coaches and management to assess some of the talent that is currently in the system while players benefit development-wise by playing against a high-level of competition before they return to their junior and professional teams.
The Jets are coached by former Manitoba Moose assistant coach and current St.John’s IceCaps Head Coach Keith McCambridge.
