Note: Jets prospects and invitees were back on the ice at Jets Development Camp on Wednesday and following their on ice responsibilities players spoke to the media including Dylan Samberg, CJ Suess and Declan Chisholm which you can listen to here. Today is day 4 of Development Camp and players start to hit the ice at 10:00 AM.
Note III: Yesterday was the first day that other NHL teams could contact RFAs belonging to another NHL squad and Pierre LeBrun reported that some teams contacted Kyle Connor’s camp. The good news for the Jets is that LeBrun indicated in that same tweet that it is Connor’s intention to negotiate and sign with Winnipeg.
NBC Sports: Examining the different contract routes for Jets, Laine. Scott goes into some detail on the possible scenarios for the Jets sniper.
The Athletic Winnipeg: The biggest holdups and challenges facing Winnipeg heading into free agency. (Paywall). Everyone is waiting for that next shoe to drop…and waiting….and waiting. Murat has more on the holdup.
Winnipeg Sun: Jets top D prospect Dylan Samberg in no rush to turn pro. Cannot help but think the allure of capturing a third straight championship will have a big appeal to him and his teammates next season.
Winnipeg Sun: Jets D prospect Declan Chisholm coming off strong season. The Jets have a number of interesting D prospects on the horizon that will bear watching.
Winnipeg Sun: Wiebe’s Notebook. Ken checks in from Development Camp. Specifically he’s looking at 1) Maurice not concerned by uncertainty. 2) Suess sees light at end of tunnel. 3) Intriguing options for the Jets from around the league.
Winnipeg Free Press: D-man reaffirms plan to return to school despite Jets opportunity. (Paywall). No guarantee he wouldn’t be AHL bound next season whereas the following year he is likely a lock for an NHL job with the Jets.
Winnipeg Free Press: Suess a serious-minded senior at Jets summer camp. (Paywall). It was tough for the first-year pro to see his inaugural pro season end in December. You can bet he will be motivated.

Winnipeg Jets Director of player development Jimmy Roy joined Andrew Paterson and Rick Ralph on the Afternoon Ride to discuss this week’s Jets Development Camp.
I also appear on the Illegal Curve Hockey Show every Saturday on TSN 1290 Winnipeg starting at 9 am.
