Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Latest Jets and Moose news.

Jets news:

London Free Press:  Knights court Roslovic.  Jack Roslovic who just signed with Winnipeg last week, who is now ineligible to return to the college ranks, was down in London checking things out.

Sportsnet:  7 NHL teams need a captain: Who’s got next?  For the Jets talk scroll to the bottom of the article.  No surprise who the author (as well as the majority of poll respondents) think will be wearing a C on his jersey next season.  Interesting second choice and while in theory he is a leader in the room and on the ice the author is right when he says there is no chance he’d wanna chat with the media as often as is required by the captain of the team.

NHL.com:  Roster Reset – Jets should get lift from top pick Patrik Laine. Missed this yesterday as Mike Morreale of NHL.com took a look at the Jets roster including key arrivals, key departures, players on the cusp, what they still need and fantasy projections.  Includes the writer taking a stab at projecting his Jets lines.

Jets audio:

Sportsnet:  The Andrew Walker Show.  A twelve minute chat with Mark Scheifele who chats about his active off-season, his involvement with KidSport Winnipeg, getting to know new teammate Patrik Laine, the emotions that came with signing a long-term deal, his breakout 2015-16 season, if he thinks Blake Wheeler should be the next captain of the team, why he would take Shea Weber over P.K. Subban, dating Dara Howell, his thoughts on athletes skipping the Rio Games, and why he believes his squad will be better in 2016-17.

Moose news:

Illegal Curve:  Home opener on October 18th.  The AHL squad had plenty of success in their first re-born season in the Peg’ despite going up against a city that also supports NHL hockey.
