Winnipeg Free Press:  Laine hit the gym, not the ice, in preparation of sophomore season.  (Paywall).  It shouldn’t come as a surprise that he stayed off the ice this summer as he suggested he wouldn’t be skating that much as last season concluded.  And if he has figured out a way to increase the velocity of that shot then he may be eclipsing the 50 goal mark this season.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Despite agreeing to be exposed, Enstrom’s heart was always in Winnipeg.  (Paywall).  Quite the chat with the normally reserved defenceman.  This team is well served with him helping on that left side.

Winnipeg Sun:  Prospects tourney behind them, now Jets get serious.  If you want some of the prospects to play in the AHL or NHL this season makes sense to give them more pro-type experience.

The Athletic:  Overlooked superstar Scheifele ready for national spotlight.  (Paywall).  While folks around these parts have been seeing the slow development of this prospect into an NHL star for some time, people around the NHL are finally starting to pay attention.
