To conclude this portion of the 2016-17 season Jets GM Kevin Cheveldayoff spoke inside the Matt Frost Media Centre.

Topics:  From when he drafted Patrik Laine to where he is today, how did he see it?  On coach Maurice and a possible extension.  Assessing the season as overall.  Did they hand Connor Hellebuyck too much too soon?  Is he comfortable next season with Connor Hellebuyck as the #1 goalie next season?  On potentially seeking out a veteran goalie.  On contracts/salary cap management/assets.  How would he assess Jacob Trouba’s season?  On potential to extend Bryan Little this Summer.  How would he assess the entire coaching staff?  On the development of the young players this season.  Would he be comfortable in having Paul Maurice go into next season without an extension?  With how Paul Maurice came into the organization, has it gone the way he anticipated?  Does this team have holes that they are looking to fill from the outside?  What could he tell us about his plans for the Expansion Draft?  Would he ask a player to waive a no movement clause?  On Blake Wheeler feeling like it was a bit of a “wasted year”.  What are specifics as to why Paul Maurice is the right man for the job?  Is he willing to declare Hellebuyck his starter for next season?  How do the last seven games impact his evaluation of the season?  Has he had some contract talks for his own contract?  Will his coaching staff be back in its entirety next season?  What is it going to take for this group to take the next step?  What did it mean to get Tucker Poolman into the fold?  What is the most important thing he has learned about Paul Maurice since he has hired him?  What can he say to assure the fans?
