Winnipeg Sun:  Kirk’s Notebook – Day 1.  Missed this but Kirk is on the road trip and gives you an assessment as he saw things on Day 1 of the last major road trip of the season.

Winnipeg Sun:  Barely breathing Jets open long road trip with loss in DallasIt was hardly the way you wanted to start a critical road trip as they attempt to salvage the season.  The long odds (0.6% before the loss according to sportsclubstats) are now down to 0.1% and while we could pull out the Dumb and Dumber line (“So you’re saying there’s a chance”) the reality is this is too high a mountain to climb.  Especially when you consider they face San Jose, Anaheim and L.A. over the next week.

Winnipeg Sun:  Fatherhood means Ladd misses his first game since becoming a JetWho knew that the birth of a child could be such so controversial.  Some were upset that the Jets captain decided to miss last night’s game in Dallas to stay home with his wifeHard to argue with the captain’s dedication since it was his first missed game since January 23, 2011 (Thrashers vs. Lightning).
