Winnipeg Jets Afternoon Links
Note II: For away games we have our #ICGWG contest. Make sure to @ tweet @illegalcurve with your guess. Remember that for your vote to qualify you must send in your guess using a hashtag (#). (i.e. #ICGWG Ladd).
Winnipeg Free Press: Jets, Hurricanes face off as both teams on hot streak. Former Southeast Division foes are set to do battle in a familiar spot with a lot of familiar faces. Should be a good contest.
Winnipeg Sun: Jets and Hurricanes set for first battle of the season. Ken always provides good insight pre-game and this time is no exception. A very good and long read but when he opens his Notebook it’s worth taking a gander. Plenty of good tidbits including some HR Ron Hainsey chit chat.
NHL.com: Jets making West race interesting. Barry Melrose checks in and gives you his thoughts on the Jets and how they are making this an interesting race in the West.
TSN: Jets look to continue move up standings versus Canes. Brian is down in Carolina and files this report in advance of the Jets and Hurricanes contest.
Sportsnet: Hockey Central Trade Tracker – Evander Kane (video). This was a late addition to the Morning Papers but in case you missed it the Hockey Central panel discusses whether the talented winger could be moved. Personally I don’t see it happening. This segment should probably be called Trade Speculation not Tracker.
Illegal Curve: Coach Maurice pre-game presser (audio). Was the group receptive to what he wants to do? Is Andrew Ladd good to go? B/C of youth of team when achieving success does light go off for them? Being able to have 1 on 1 conversations. How much pride does he take in the Hurricanes franchise? Challenges his team will face tonight? Power Play discussion. Has he shifted any of the responsibilities of his assistant coaches (Pascal Vincent & Charlie Huddy). Is he considering a third assistant coach?
Illegal Curve: Game day set-up. Ez sets up tonight’s action between the Jets and Hurricanes including projected lineups, starting goalies, game notes and more.
Illegal Curve: Morning Papers. If you missed any of the news this AM we have you covered.
News and Observer: More from ‘Mo’ on Canes, Jets. Hurricanes beat writer Chip Alexander gives you a look at things from the Carolina perspective.
