Sportsnet:  Winnipeg surprising the NHL’s elite.  Jets jumped up the power rankings to 16th and get some talk in the preamble.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Maurice magic has limitationsIt was certainly not a banner effort by Winnipeg last night.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Thorburn bulges the twine. You could tell by the reaction of his teammates when the sniper finally got a chance to put one in the net how happy they were for him.  It may have been the longest tip in in Jets 2.0 history.

Winnipeg Sun:  Jets lose to PredsBoth teams had an opportunity to take this game as they went into the 3rd period tied at 3.  Ultimately the Preds pulled off the victory.  Ken assess the game.

Winnipeg Sun:  Penalty put Jets in big holeIt was a pretty selfish penalty to take when the Jets could ill afford to give the Predators another chance.  Coach Maurice clearly wasn’t pleased about it in his post-game comments.  Kirk  also touches on Pavelec’s second thoughts (re; bringing family to Olympics), Trouba and Jones promising futures, remembering Rick Rypien and around the glass.

Winnipeg Sun:  Predators bump Jets back to the basementFor all the good the Jets have done lately there is nothing like a loss to a team lower in the standings which leapfrogs them ahead of you to illustrate how far you still have to go to get anywhere close to the playoffs.

TSN:  Dull endingThe game had some flashes but for the most part it wasn’t exactly a barn burner at the MTS Centre last night.  Dennis Beyak gives you his thoughts from his perch high above the ice surface.
