Winnipeg Free Press: ‘Something needs to change’. Tim lays out the possible things that could be done to accomplish this goal including; 1) making a trade, 2) dismissing the coach, 3) making a recall or two and 4) changing the culture. What do you think would be best option?
Winnipeg Free Press: Draft snubs continue to motivate Kichton to ‘prove people wrong’. Many young players that don’t achieve a high draft ranking can turn this into a powerful motivator in their goal to make the NHL.
Winnipeg Sun: Montoya glad he didn’t trade goalie pads for the gridiron. He is a likeable player on and off the ice and has been solid in his role as backup for the Jets this season.
Illegal Curve: Anthony Peluso suspended three games. While we expected him to get at least two games the league handed down a three game suspension for his hit on the Stars Alex Goligoski during Saturday’s 6-4 loss to Dallas. This is the first suspension in the history of the Jets 2.0. Here is a link to the explanation provided by the NHL. Do you agree or disagree?
Illegal Curve: Matt Halischuk suffered a fractured forearm, out indefinitely. Around the same time we learned of Anthony Peluso’s fate the Jets announced that Hustle-chuk had undergone surgery and would be out indefinitely.
The Telegram: IceCaps drop 3-2 decision to Marlies; St. John’s now breaks for Christmas. St. John’s has been very good of late and despite the loss yesterday are sitting in 5th place in the East. The team now enjoys an 11 day break for the holidays before they start back up on Friday, December 27th.
Blue Jackets news:
Columbus Dispatch: Ready for the Jets. Aaron Portzline always always pens an interesting column. He gives you some insight into what is happening with Columbus including the team being ready for the Jets, the Manitoba connection on the team and the relationship between coach Richards and coach Noel.
