If the Jets are being outplayed, Pavelec will often keep them in the game, giving them a chance to win but… If the Jets are playing as well or better than their opponents, and are pressing in the offensive zone, then there’s a breakdown via a bad bounce or giveaway, Montoya generally makes the save, keeping the Jets in the game. These are the saves that the Jets need that Pavelec doesn’t generally make. Often the Jets’ skaters are indicted for too many breakdowns in these cases. If these saves were made more regularly, the skaters wouldn’t be indicted as the culprits as often and the Jets would have a better record. By trying to protect Pavelec, Noël, ends up blaming the skaters far too often.

Watching last night’s game and the almost full 60 minute effort, great forechecking, great breakouts, and great cycling was like watching a playoff game. The Jets should be proud and should learn something from that.
