Blomqvist

It became official today that the Jets have signed Axel Blomqvist to a three-year, two-way, entry level contract.  Big #65 (pictured above) who is listed as 6′ 6″ came into camp this summer and there was a lot of buzz about his game.

From the Jets:

The Winnipeg Jets are pleased to announce they have agreed to terms with forward Axel Blomqvist on a three-year, two-way, entry level contract with an average annual value of $608,000. Blomqvist has been assigned to the Lethbridge Hurricanes of the WHL.

Blomqvist, 18, has played in three games with the Lethbridge Hurricanes of the WHL so far this season. In that time, he has recorded two points (1G, 1A). During the 2012-13 campaign, the Osby, Sweden native appeared in 59 games with the Hurricanes for 33 points (7G, 26A) and 66 penalty minutes.

  • ROARING FINNIGIN

I’m glad the Jets signed him. I was disappointed after rookie camp that they didn’t sign him. I thought with that size and that he was a forward, he would be a good signing. I really like what the Jet scouts have done this year! In a couple of years when he fills out more he will be a beast!! Buyaaahh!!!!
