Proposed Realignment puts Winnipeg Jets in Conference 3

On tonight CBC’s Satellite Hotstove, Elliotte Friedman revealed the most recent version of the proposed realignment within the NHL.  While there are still a number of things that need to be worked out (i.e. playoffs) you can bet that this is likely what the final product will end up looking like.

What are your initial thoughts on the Winnipeg Jets potential conference?

Previously the Red Wings and Blue Jackets had remained in the West in the Jets proposed conference but this newest version has Detroit and Columbus heading East.

    Unimpressed. Other than Chicago (who I would be extremely happy to see play), I find that the rest of the conference have extremely bland rosters and play exteremely boring hockey.

    @JayDoubleU:disqus Minnesota’s roster is bland?

  3. JayDoubleU says:

    Corrected… Minnesota would be a good rivalry (still trying to shake their boring, bland past in my mind… former Lemaire-coached teams can do that).

    Hey, trust me.

    We’re not any happier about it in Dallas.

    We lose our rivalries with San Jose and Anaheim and get….the Winnipeg Jets? The team that literally has news stories starting with ‘If you had trouble staying awake…you weren’t alone’.

    No thanks. I’d rather keep our Pacific Division, even with the late games.
