It is a tough call. It was without a doubt an ugly game on Tuesday. Having said that, a win is a win. Those that cover the team have to cover all aspects of the game, so this requires focusing on the things you do well as much as you focus on the things that went wrong. Even when you win, there might be more negative things to focus on than positive.

In Winnipeg, fans are getting past the notion that they need to cheer to demonstrate support and to solidify the notion the city deserves to be in the NHL. Fans are going to reward the team for good play and boo them for the mistakes.

To your point about needing to be impressed before cheering, it would be nice to see fans a bit more animated to start the game. If the team comes out flat, 15,004 cheering fans could be quite the boost.

Pumped for the game tonight. Ill be in attendance and cant wait to hiss at Leaf fans. Somethings been bugging me with Jets new lately. I listen/read/follow a lot of Jets news and the overall reaction from the 3-2 win the other night has been negative. I know it wasn't the most exciting game, but as fans are we starting to get on our team when they win an ugly one? I heard a quote from Jim Ralph who covers the Leafs said the Toronto fans are "reactive not proactive" when referring to the Leafs fans at home. Basically meaning they need to be impressed before they cheer. Is this what the Winnipeg media and fans want? We need to avoid this all together. cheer for hockey...say something positive about a 3-2 win and don't focus on the negative. NOTE: the Leafs are 1-4 at home

thoughts?
