Did everyone signing a contract over the last year or two think that with the CBA expiring the players&#039; share of HRR was going to go up?  Stay the same?  Ever since the NBA and NFL settled around the 50% mark, the writing has been clearly on the wall: the players&#039; share of revenues is going down - but if they could&#039;ve come to terms before the season was in jeopardy, this would still mean a huge raise for players over the course of the next CBA.

Fehr&#039;s got the players whipped up about honoring contracts - well the only way players will receive every dime promised is if they get rid of escrow and a cap tied to revenues.  That&#039;s where this is going, so find a comfy spot to spend the next year or so without the NHL.]]></description>
