re: Jack Todd in the Gazette

i got generally no problems with folks getting mega rich from the production/purchase/sale/trade of inanimate commodities like, say, wheat, potash, timber, iron, milk, peanuts, candies that melt in your mouth and not in your hand, rubber, fish and so on.

the difference in hockey is that resource that owners are using to get rich are people, namely exceptionally talented (and some moderately talented) hockey players. the relationship here should be less exploitative and based in partnership. these owners and players – no matter how they may sometimes hate each other – actually need each other.

hockey players, like soylent green, are people!…People!!
