Jets news:

Winnipeg Sun:  Prospect signs with KHL. A shame in the sense that Kulda added a good amount of defensive depth for the Jets.  Remember they used 13 different defencemen last season, so depth on the blue line is never a bad thing.

Affiliate news – St. John’s IceCaps:

The Telegram:  Resetting the defenceLots of different looks for this position next season.  One thing that is certain, is with the departure of Kulda and expectations that Postma will be with the big club, there is plenty of opportunity for someone to become the face of this defensive core.

A Question for the IC boys:
With the signing of Jokinen, Poni and Wellwood and with the eventual signing of Kane (i have faith it will happen) did the Jets leave any space for young guys to make the team? Last year Fehr was hurt which allowed Scheifle to stick around, but this year it seems as though the roster is pretty tight which doesnt bode well for guys like Klingberg, Machacek and Cormier who have earned a shot playing in the AHL or guys like Scheifle and Telegin who potentially could make the jump to the show.
I know the Jets want to take their time with Scheifle and Telegin and vets were brought in to bridge the gap, but what if these guys make it impossible for Chevvy to send down? There are only so many spots to keep deserving players happy
