Ondrej Pavelec charged with DUI

Kevin Cheveldayoff, General Manager of the Winnipeg Jets Hockey Club, has issued the following statement on behalf of True North Sports & Entertainment:

“At this time True North Sports & Entertainment and the Winnipeg Jets Hockey Club are aware of various, yet still inconsistent, internet reports pertaining to Ondrej Pavelec. We, as an organization, are attempting to gather more information and until such time as we are comfortable and have a full understanding of the situation, we will not be issuing any further comment.”

This afternoon news broke that Winnipeg Jets goaltender Ondrej Pavelec has been charged with a DUI.

    For the Winnipeg Jets not to come out and comment on this situation has the belief that they didn’t know about this since the event occured 1 month after he signed the contract. Ondrej Pavelec have some questions to answer on this matter because his is going to be one of the few players on this team to build the Jets around in the future. We can’t have these events around this team.  If the Jets know about the events.  He could of faced stiff team and/or league punishment as being conduct detrimental to the team.
